1. The Seven-Letter Bonus
Playing all seven tiles in one turn gives you a 50-point bonus. Look for opportunities to create 7-letter words, especially with common prefixes and suffixes.
Common 7-letter patterns:
-ING endings, RE- prefixes, -ED endings, -ER endings
2. Parallel Play Strategy
Create multiple words simultaneously by playing parallel to existing words. This can dramatically increase your score while using fewer tiles.
Example:
If "CAT" is on the board, play "DOGS" parallel to create "CD", "AO", "TG", "S" for multiple scores.
3. Rack Balance
Maintain a good balance of vowels and consonants. Ideal ratio is 3-4 consonants and 3-4 vowels.
Rack management tips:
- Don't hoard high-value letters too long
- Exchange tiles when you have too many vowels or consonants
- Keep flexible letters like S, R, T, N
4. Defensive Play
Sometimes it's better to block your opponent's opportunities than to maximize your own score.
Defensive tactics:
- Block access to Triple Word Score squares
- Avoid creating easy hookable words
- Close off areas of the board when ahead
High Value (8-10 points)
Use on Triple Letter Score when possible
Medium Value (3-5 points)

Low Value (1-3 points)
